Kate designed our garden for our previous home so we didn’t hesitate contacting her again last year when we purchased a new home with a garden that needed a bit of work. Kate responded quickly and enthusiastically. She worked with us to help us incorporate our favourite plants and our ideas as well as giving us much needed advice on what plants would suit our garden. She worked with us and the landscapers from inception to completion. Kate’s knowledge and passion for creating beautiful, inviting gardens has been invaluable.
We absolutely love our new garden and can’t thank Kate enough for all she’s done.

It is documented that “Plantations” our historical Victorian home was known for its beautiful gardens. Our vision was to bring the garden back to it former glory. From the moment we met Kate we knew that the journey was underway to bring our vision to reality. Kate listened to our ideas and helped us bring the project together. We wanted “Plantations” to have a garden that would cope with the South Australian climate, however compliment the beautiful old building. Along the journey we met with Kate several times and she crafted a plan for us to follow with our landscaper. At the end the creation was a stunning garden of topiary, box hedges, espaliered lemons, Iceberg roses, lavender, pine trees and lush lawns. Thank you Kate, for your knowledge and assistance, we could not have done this without you.

I just want to let you know how very grateful we are for your sound and inspiring garden plans. There is rarely a day that goes by without me thinking how very lucky we are to have such a stunning, liveable and fabulous garden and outdoor area.

“Having moved into a new home, I needed help to have a garden that was low maintenance and attractive.
The professionalism, knowledge and advice received from Kate was exceptional.
The design and the plants selected were ideal and I am extremely happy with the result.

YourDC is absolutely thrilled with the results produced by your wonderful design. We showcased your concept drawing to our investors and potential customers and received great feedback from the beginning. We even received compliments from the City of Salisbury regarding the value this garden would bring to the site.
More impressive, however, was the finished result.
The garden you designed for us has added a massive aesthetic appeal to our first-class Data Centre. This helps fulfil our desire to make our facility a pleasant place to be for people – not just a pleasant place to be for computer equipment.
Even now during winter, the grass is green and the plants are growing well. Come summer time we know our customers are going to love to take a breather in the garden space, a welcome relief from their hard work within our walls.
A big thank you to Garden Art Design from the Team at YourDC !
We really love the garden that Kate has designed for us, it is exciting to see it taking shape and growing into a lovely environment for us, following the bushfires.
It was so great to work with Kate. She is experienced, has great ideas that are simple and flexible, has an excellent network to draw upon and provides an easy to read drawing, with a plant list and staging plans.
We thought it was great value and a wise investment.
Apart from that, Kate is professional, easy to deal with and produces good work.
It has been a really good experience for us.
We can definitely recommend Kate.

We are extremely grateful to Kate Whitelock for the wonderful garden she created for us at Myrtle Bank after we knocked over an old home, razed the block and built a new house.
Kate was recommended to us by our building designer David Frazer and she listened to our amateur requests for the type of garden we wanted. She was able to guide us towards a final design that has resulted in a garden that gives us unexpected and immense pleasure on a daily basis. We love looking at it from inside the house and then walking around it.
We found Kate highly professional, attentive and collaborative, very knowledgeable and creative, generous with her time and gifted in her selection and placement of the plants she ordered.
Frequently people walk past our house and stop and compliment us on the garden and we hurry to say the credit goes to Kate Whitelock.

I’d like to thank you for providing us with an amazing landscape plan for our outdoor display area at Australian Outdoor Living.
We managed to fit 6 pools, a Utilities Shed, a verandah, decking, artificial grass and numerous plants to compliment the space and all of this works together seamlessly. The result is fantastic.
Your attention to detail and genuine interest in our project are just a few elements that contribute to the success of our outdoor display area.
The result was so great that Australian Outdoor Living was recently awarded, by SPASA, the best outdoor pool display area in South Australia and we also took out the National award at the same time.

“Kate has a great style. For us, her recommendations and guidance extended to a significant revamp of the layout of the rear garden – and we are delighted with the result! She wasn’t “pushy,” just very clear in what would work – and what probably wouldn’t!”
Former Chief Executive Officer – Adelaide Football Club
“I thought you might like to see how your plans for our yard have come to life. The yard is barely recognisable. We are so happy with it. The kids spend most of their time outside now and we actually use the space. We bought a Weber-Q and rarely cook inside now. I’d have never been brave enough to cut down all our trees and flatten the yard had it not have been for a comprehensive plan. The chooks love it too. We’re looking forward now to seeing it take shape as the plants become established and grow.”

On behalf of the Committee and Residents of Montefiore I congratulate and thank you for the stunning garden design you came up with for our surrounds. There is now a genuine air of excitement amongst the residents, including some who were doubtful initially, about what lies ahead with the future stages.
The Committee itself has been very impressed and delighted with the way that you listened to them and their desires for the garden and how you transferred that into a design that was not only in line with their thoughts but also in keeping with the general neighbourhood look and feel.
Right from the start we felt that we had engaged someone who not only had the knowledge, creativity and skill to bring the garden design to fruition, but also had the experience and diplomacy skills to handle the diversity of opinion likely with a group of 36 different unit owners. You did not let us down.
Your willingness to consult, listen, translate, help and guide us through every step of the process was greatly appreciated as was your willingness to attend public displays of the plans and respond to any queries that residents may have had.
We would highly recommend you to anyone who wished to have a garden design developed that reflected their own unique personality and wishes and we look forward to working with you on the future stages of our garden development.

“The garden is finished and we absolutely love it – it will look even better as the Spring trees and flowers bloom and the garden develops. I just wanted to thank you for all of your work and for creating such a beautiful garden for us. I’ve had many people walk past the front of the house and compliment us on the garden which is extremely gratifying although the credit is with you and Craig…”

“Kate is the true professional! We were delighted with her contribution and guidance. The end design and drawings were achieved within the time frame required and were to a high standard. Kate’s ability to listen to a brief and then achieve an outcome to satisfy a group of residents with initial varying expectations was brilliant. Thankyou for your commitment and sensitivity to the whole project.”

“An easy person to work with and flexible in her approach, Kate is very creative, has a wide and immediate knowledge of plants and design and is thoroughly dependable. She was able to understand ideas that I had about what I wanted in my garden and translate these into visual design that fit what I imagined … our garden is everything we wanted it to be, beautiful, practical and waterwise. People stop at my gate most days and just … stare.”

“Kate is a truly inspirational and enthusiastic landscape professional. She used her exemplary knowledge and skills of landscape design to work cooperatively with our kindergarten community to produce a clear and achievable play space / garden redevelopment plan. We are grateful to Kate for her competent and effective service delivery and her constant commitment to our project.”
MOANA KINDERGARTEN DIRECTOR
“Kate recently designed our garden at our new home…she consulted with us and then produced a plan with recommendations for the plants to be used. The plan was brilliant. Basically we adopted the plan as presented and…we are delighted with the end result. Having introduced Kate to friends of ours who have experienced the same result I have no hesitation in recommending Kate to any person considering using her in the future.”

“We renovated a 1900’s Queen Anne villa with a contemporary extension and Kate’s creative eye brought us a tantalising mix of old world front garden with a subtle transition of palms to a contemporary courtyard. She created a visual landscaping plan which brought together all that we had discussed. The raised garden beds of herbs and vegetables, the ponds which we can sit on and gaze at the fish among the lily fronds. The miniature fruit trees, roses that gracefully line our verandah with their perfume and colour. Osmanthus, Gardenias, Datura. So much more… a feast for the senses. Our gardens bring us great pleasure and are a sublime escape.”

“When deciding to put in a swimming pool, we came to the conclusion that we needed some professional design advice. With a difficult sloping site and a tight budget, we wanted a lovely family pool, but not at the expense of a garden and play space for our children. Enlisting Kate’s help was the best decision we made! Kate spent a lot of time discussing our needs and getting the design just right. Watching her plan come to life has been a joy. We love the layout and plant selection in our new back yard, which is looking fantastic already, only a few months along. The garden is not only practical and productive but an excellent use of space with designer flair.”
“Our garden is our haven. A place to relax, entertain and enjoy. Kate truly listened to our needs as a family and cleverly designed a garden reflective of our lifestyle. Given our limited knowledge of plants and gardening, Kate gently, yet professionally guided us through the design and plant selection process. The final drawings were brilliant and extremely easy for our landscaper to follow. Kate’s dedication to her work was truly evident when she helped position every plant in the garden. She continues to offer advice and support when we need it, a quality reflective of the passion she holds for her work. Thankyou Kate your garden design has made our home complete!”

“Kate was engaged to prepare a design for our garden at Coromandel Valley. From the outset of this project Kate was keen to understand exactly what we wanted and how her design would complement the overall design and layout of our property. A combination of Kate’s commitment, knowledge, experience and expertise has ensured that we are absolutely delighted with our garden plan and the associated plant recommendations. As an added bonus, Kate has been a pleasure to work with.”

“Kate did such a wonderful job of designing the garden for our new house, that we had her renovate the gardens of our old house prior to putting it on the market. It was a fantastic decision with everyone commenting favourably on their appearance and adding thousands to the price we received”
What can you achieve in a week? Quite a lot if you’re working with Kate Whitelock
After six years our small courtyard and indoor garden was showing serious signs of “Dead Man Walking”. Chances of recovery were slim at best. This presented a big problem, as we were about to sell our apartment.
Kate to the rescue.
After two meetings it was decided to replace the entire garden. Kate created the plan, ordered the plantings and selected landscaper, Andrew Matthias, to handle the reconstruction, under her supervision.
All trees and shrubs were removed, the soil was rejuvenated, seven two metre magnolias and a dense planting of philodendrons and other shrubs were installed, along with a new automatic watering and in-ground lighting system.
The end result; Just great! All in one week– go to whoa.
Thank you Kate
Jill & David
I am sitting on our new wall drinking coffee in the sun and thinking – again – how pleased we are with your garden design. Craig from Piccadilly Landscapes did the hard landscaping in June and it looks fabulous. Since then we have taken out the builders rubble, replaced it with soil, and planted the fruit trees. Now we are pretty much ready to do the rest of the planting, which will be fun.
If you are passing this way, please feel free to stick your nose in and have a look! We are really delighted with the way it has turned out, so many thanks again!
